How to Use Generic Labels

While a majority of shipments go through Carriers and other services, plenty of other methods of transportation or delivery exist. In these instances, using a Generic Label allows the company to "ship" the order without interfacing or being charged by a carrier.

Example cases:

  1. Orders are picked up directly by the customer. A generic label will allow the Packer to correctly identify the shipment for the customer, while also fully closing out the order in ShipHero.
  2. Orders are delivered directly by the warehouse/store. This can include using a different shipping service or app to ship the products after they have been fully packed at the warehouse.

The lack of an attached fee or additional cost makes them a very flexible tool for any warehouse workflow. However, as they lack a carrier, they rely on other systems to ultimately get the order to the customer.
